Despite these enormous human costs, territorial gains remain minimal. Russia has gained just 0.038 square kilometers per soldier killed over the past year. At the current pace, conquering all of Ukraine would take 89 years.

There is no official tally of losses on either side of the Ukraine-Russia war. However, as of July 9th, estimates suggest that Russia has suffered between 900,000 and 1.3 million casualties since the war began, including approximately 190,000–350,000 deaths.
