My personal working theory is he realizes doing solely animation critique wasn't enough to satisfy him, so he wants to combine it with edgelord content to drama-farm. Particularly combined with this recent outburst he's had, I'd say the motive stems from some form of insecurity/self-hatred, imo.

Can't say that type of mentally unwell behavior is a surprise, honestly. It would be a little surprising if Blackishhh's online career did anything else but start to go on a downward streak at this point, though. Making legit death threats like that is a HUGE line no one should cross.

This point here is exactly why I've always been highly skeptical of the criticism regarding her in the first place. Even the one point I thought had merit turns out to be an overexaggeration. Genuinely, thank you for making that point because it makes the ridiculous hate even more undeserved.

Thank you! That was very much the intention as I was cosplaying Postal Dude from the first game specifically. Funnily enough, Brandon's handler at the table with him asked if my cosplay was a "Disney AU version of Blitzø" which I could totally see given the trench coat, red sweater, boots, etc. 🙃

That sentence was moreso just to put additional, personal perspective on this overall topic, but I totally could have phrased that better. You're right about that vagueness enabling that behavior to begin with.

That's honestly a good point. For full clarity, I only said that in the first place because that has genuinely been my experience looking at various videos discussing the topic. Do I believe them myself? Not particularly as there largely isn't much evidence to support malicious intent from Viv.

As you said yourself, folks somehow think it's "sanctimonious" to behave this way because of controversy surrounding her, but it lends a hand in ultimately negating valid conversations about these issues, ironically enough. As someone else said, it's precisely why I dislike most online discourse tbh

THAT SAID, HOWEVER: in no way, shape, or form does it justify organizing smear/hate campaigns like Blackishhh is doing here just for attention and hate-farming. If anything, this type of behavior further disincentivizes proper critique about actual problematic behaviors.

This definitely happens alot, though to be completely nuanced about it, I have heard that Vivziepop has supposedly done some shady things regarding the original crew of the pilot for Hazbin Hotel among other things, and there is totally valid discussion to be had about that.

I feel like the "pseudo-progressive to blatant edgelord/bigotry" pipeline is something that doesn't get as much discussion as it should warrant, and this is a fair example imo. The very few videos I've seen from Blackishhh before they began feeding into this type of content seemed decent-

Additionally, I'm not immune to that feeling of going for specific actors either as the major reason I went last year was for Brandon Rogers as a fan of his original YouTube content. Was totally worth it as demonstrated by this selfie I got with him

That explains the Death Note tripp pants haha 🙃 jokes aside, that's totally valid. I almost went when I saw Maile Flanagan was gonna be there as I loved her as Principal Perry in Lab Rats, but I figure there might be a next time at a different convention perchance.

That's good to hear. Admittedly, that's the key reason why I didn't go this year as last year only had the guests and vendor hall, making it feel kind of empty. "Convention petting zoos" just aren't it for me, honestly.
