🤝 it’s such an awful feeling. Like yea we make stuff for ourselves, but the support from those close to us matters so much. There’s a difference between relying on outside sources for self worth and engaging in sharing a passion with someone you consider a friend. If there’s no engagement… feels bad

You’ve been doin the work, freals!! Though i mostly meant when i send things in DMs, i’m sure the same can be said for how people may feel posting to a public space. People like you make those public spaces much more welcoming and comfortable to post anything. sharing your art is being vulnerable!

Sometimes it feels like big clicks elsewhere doesnt matter at all when someone close to me just doesn’t seem to care. Or the ‘iunno it jus looks good, idk what to say everytime ya send your art (/gpose)’ thing. I jus really appreciate when people keep up with me @-@

Lrp the most quietly isolating thing is sending art to someone who is considered a close friend and going from entire discussion to just an emote acknowledgement. Doesnt even have to be admiration, idc bout that. I put thought into my thing, i like thoughts back.

I'll say it again, Art is communication.

"Create for yourself" really means "Create art that communicates who you are." And one sided communication feels terrible. Commenting on peoples art/creations can be scary, I get it. But COMMENT. COMMUNICATE. We want to hear it. I want to hear it.

I have said for decades that frustration is a good thing.

it's not even really something I see as something to 'tolerate' though I recognize that's a matter of perspective, but rather frustration is the symptom of you having standards and recognizing you want to close that gap between you and it
