(2) Its really no bad weather just inappropriate gear. Insulated over pants, insulated boots like sorels, layer on your chest, neck water and nice heavy tocque. Great mittens and good baselayers.

Others can chime in but mid Jan to early Feb seemed to be the coldest. It depends though something has to blow up from south to warm things up. It really depends though we had -35 deg F on April 1st one year in Fairbanks.
