It was Xavier’s brain (explained in the text pages) used to control her, then make the cerebomb. I’m more concerned with how the Phoenix Force bonded with a comatose Jean.

The “how it’s made” segment they showed after the film in theaters was fantastic, and let us release the breath we’d been holding through the feature.

This was one of my favorite movie productions of the year. They did such a good job with the dog!
