I was breathing like a dragon for a moment after reading that. The audacity! The stupidity!

which is roughly like reducing groups of four agents running around to groups of three agents running around

Alright. Sorry for bringing this here, I didn't want to upset :/ Gonna delete my posts fyi

I disagree. Cognitive dissonance is uncomfortable. That discomfort fulfills an important purpose, i.e. forcing you to face reality and act in accordance with it. In that way, dissonance is very efficient. The problem is when the purpose is lost and people deny reality to just feel comfortable again.

I might still enjoy f/f even if it's written by men. It's not the f/f I have a problem with, in any case, but the fact that it was written by men just puts me off personally (unless it's genuinely well written perhaps, who knows).
January 24, 2026 at 12:34 PM
Actually, I agree. I love f/f and I wasn't aware that it was being dismissed as male-gazey even if it isn't. I was referring to f/f that does feel male-gazey to me... But... I read a lot of f/f, mostly written by women for women... so maybe male-gaze isn't as prevalent in f/f as I claimed/feared

"Academic work". Yeah, right 🙄

This is no consolation, but the preliminary autopsy report confirmed that she had a clear bullet shot wound that entered her left temple and exited the right side of her head. I'm not an expert, but I would assume that it's quite unlikely that she was conscious in those following minutes...

I think this also applies to other emotions, like empathy. Prolonged intense empathy can lead to fatigue, too. Empathy is not more meaningful if it's intense. We don't need to exhaust ourselves first in order to find meaning or motivation.
January 22, 2026 at 10:58 AM
In general, IMO emotions are not more "meaningful" or "useful" the more intense they are. I shouldn't derive a lot of meaning (or motivation) out of a very stressful situation just because it's very stressful. And I shouldn't tolerate intense stress in hopes of deriving more meaning out of it.

I feel you 💯. I think about her all the time, too.

Very good. Preferably with a European DNS provider, too! (if you haven't already)

I've realised that the core issue to them is that Renée Good didn't obey. All the talk around whether the killer acted in self-defense or not, whether she accelerated towards him or not, whether she was violent or not, is noise. Their real core belief is that not obeying is punishable by death.

Okay, shit. *grabby hands*

I loooove the colours 🫠

That's it for me, too. I can still enjoy a book without being sexually attracted to any characters. Definitely. (I adore aro/ace relationships in books, too). But I don't get turned on. And being turned on does hit different for me. (Feral mode activated, if you will.)
January 8, 2026 at 10:51 AM
Oh, yeah. That, too. f/f has a lot of male gaze (it's a comparable phenomenon. straight men liking f/f vs. straight women liking m/m. only that there's more misogyny involved for women)
January 7, 2026 at 11:31 AM
but straight women are not attracted to other women, so f/f doesn't work for them

I'm so sick of these Oppression Olympics. It's so tiresome.

How fucked up do you need to be if even *Grok* refuses your prompts?

Do they even know gay people IRL? Doesn't read like it. It sounds like gay people are just fiction to them. Misses a lot of complexity, for sure. I invite them to go gay clubbing once or twice.

I'm too delusional about this already. I'm always reading the blurb with such bated breath. Like, is the *prince* actually a lesbian? Is the *knight* a lesbian, at least? Come on, give us something! Alas, no...

Going offline or analog is even more exciting than digital alternatives. Cuts even closer to the root of digital "bloat". I'm very much looking forward to your reporting on this and what you end up learning from it. That being said, thank you for listing so many good alternatives, very helpful!

And: "Here are 1000 scientific reasons why bears are actually more dangerous than men."
January 1, 2026 at 1:48 PM
And even *if* one wanted to establish "sapphic" as a term with less *history* (God forbid, history!) being used as a slur etc., I feel like "sapphic" is catching up fast to lesbian. You can't fight lesbophobia by just using different words. All it does is try to conceal shit more.
