I've had my photos in artshows, I've seen a plenty of other photographers, some of the pics were really stunning... but they are just not as popular as paintings and drawings.
Face it, we are fully entitled to enjoy any hobby we like, but people aren't obliged it pay us for it :)

...and if someone wants to charge 200€ or 300€, that's also fine - either they get customers and good for them, or they don't and can spend their time some other way. We work for what's our time worth for us.

But fact is, in artshow, photos of animals/fursuits go way lower than paintings.

It's always a matter of offer and demand. I often enjoy photographing for free when I have a nice model, good idea and pleasant location.
On cons I usually charge money. I wouldn't photograph for $20 like some do, I have better ways to use my time. But I understand if someone charges that...

I get that. It's a lot of time spent going to post office and promoting. I guess I'm selling more of them.
It mainly started as vanity project for me. It's totally fair if you don't feel like making them this year.

Well, on one hand, you're not obliged to meet anyone's price expectations. Sell for a price that feels fair to you.
But... um... how do you manage not to make profit at $60? I'm making them bigger, sell at less than $40 and it works fine...
