This does make a lot more sense to me now I was genuinely like equating them because I saw “using sex to feel good/have kids” and using it for a purpose instead of “because of being attracted to the person” just seemed like objectification to me initially, like using someone

Like why are we differentiating desire and attraction, and how do they actually differ when used in the context of human relationships? None of that is explained here.

People still don’t understand because nothing is actually explained in these posts. It’s just a couple of statements but no detail explaining why or how. Which is why people follow up with questions like I did

By my logic, if you desire a human, sexually, you are attracted to that human sexually… Right? I feel like we’re just dividing up very similar words here and making it confusing for everyone… despite being different terms, in human relationships, they are used similarly

I’m looking at cake as an object. I do not see humans as objects. So I’m not seeing how you can desire a human but not be attracted to it. That makes literally zero sense to me! /gen

For example, you can desire cake, but not be attracted to it. So I see what you mean a little bit my brain is just not braining. Which is why I’m genuinely asking ace people themselves to explain it for me/gen

Like I see the difference, obviously, but like, not when it comes to human bonds. If you want someone you want them. If you don’t, you don’t!

Desire= wanting something

Attraction= evoking desire

So if you feel desire wouldn’t you feel attraction to that desire too? /gen

they are very similar so I’m confused
