People are going to evaluate their own personal risk exposure in different ways, and that's fine. But I do think it's always important to remember that democratic politics and political activism have been conducted under much worse conditions than we face and are likely to face in America today.
I would caution anyone entertaining this sentiment. Mass protests are likely to be dangerous. We no longer live in a country where the right to peacefully assemble exists for opponents of the regime.
