Just a person with jumble of thoughts, feelings, and ideas. Trying to reconcile being kind with having a wicked sense of humor. I love pets and hate pickles. Star Trek>Star Wars. AJR sings my truth. “I was quiet, but I was not blind”
Cooking isn’t too bad but I could do without having to clean up afterwards.

Fuck a corporate culture where your boss gives themselves a raise on the promise of extra profitability but hands all the tasks to get that result to workers who makes 60-70 percent less. All while shorting their workday while in salary.

Nothing like being given a special project (to finish ASAP), the tasks your boss doesn’t want to do from her job (due right away), and all at the busiest time of your weekly and monthly work cycle. Oh and no overtime allowed.

Offering up a snoozy kitty to help people meet their cute animal quota for the day.

Wanted to eat comfort food but didn’t want junk. Ended up with homemade mashed potatoes and baked organic popcorn chicken bites. Not quite healthy but also not a terrible choice. I feel conflicted.

FYI: I obsess over cute animals because unlike humans, I don’t have to wonder which ones would actively harm me for fun and profit. My cat would absolutely shred my hand for amusement, it’s no great mystery.

Nothing like late stage capitalists getting mad at people for hating late stage capitalism. Are we supposed to lie and say we enjoy feeling the life drain from us to the people putting their boot on our necks? We can barely breathe at this point.

Another day of doing the parts of my boss’s job she doesn’t like. Good news is she’s asking fewer questions and I am streamlining the work. Bad news is I’m pretty sure that just means she’ll had me another shit task soon.

How bad can life be when I have this beauty living with me?

I just made 4 varieties of peanut butter cookies to test out if/what kind chocolate chips work with it. The part that felt decadent was using 3 eggs for a baking experiment.

Trying not to react when people complain about how their voting choices backfired is my new cardio.

Watching more shows from the early 90s. What hopeless romantics we were. We really thought we had all of societies ills on the ropes. We didn’t know that a handful of wealthy people were going to count on those ills to make their fortunes and would gladly take us all down to get it done.

When all else fails, I remember my life allows me to snuggle with her. Chin scritches are my reward for getting through another day.

Watching Season 1 Law & Order and hearing them talk about abortion rights and civil rights as things that can’t be undone hurts.

Shout out to all my people getting stuck in the middle of things. It isn’t your fight, you didn’t make the rules, but you get all the anxiety of trying to enforce policy. Next round is on me.

Cowards who are bullies don’t attack their enemies. They just encourage others to do it in their name. Too timid to do their own dirty work, they are despised by those strong enough to defy then and those strong enough to do what they only suggest.

Nobody deserves information you aren’t willing to share. No means no. Your curiosity isn’t my problem.

Fuck those who would ask us to be a lesser version of ourselves. True leadership asks all to be the best versions of ourselves. Even if that threatens the status quo.

I spent my whole day being cold and overworked. Not surprised my boss listens to Fox News everyday.

Resting kitty face.

To understand how business works is to see how the deck is stacked. It’s never stacked in favor of the workers who actually add value, only in the favor of the owners of capital. Exploitation makes the global business community go round.

Nothing like watching middle managers belittle the workers who actually create value for a company. Threatening their livelihood is a stupid move. Those workers will find another job because they have valuable skills. Your aging, paper pushing ass might have a real struggle.

Something to feel good about: Public water fountains for dogs. They exist and we had one delivered to our office today. Take your wins where you can find them.

I’m so tired of pretending politicians are “representing their constituents” when all they are actually doing is serving their own interests. It feels demeaning to keep up this obvious pretense.
