I failed to do a post for every book I read this year as I planned so here's my wrap up from Story Graph! Book of the year unquestionably is Martyr! but absolutely everything I read by Buehlman holds a special place in my heart.

This might be the most depressing thing I've ever read. I checked it out yesterday on Libby and listened to it straight through. 5/5 for sure

Just finished this monster of a book. Still mulling it all over to determine if I want to continue the series but that's mostly due to the length and not quality. The world building and magic system are easy standouts but the plot speed and safe character decisions require some digestion.

In the polar opposite of the last book I read, PHM was fantastic. Wonderful characters, great focus on science instead of hand waving how everything works, and the biggest bit of fantasy is people working together. 4.5/5 would absolutely recommend.

Just finished Between Two Fires and it was fantastic. Noble dark story of redemption set during the Black plague in France while a war between heaven and hell rages. Steve West was also an absolutely amazing narrator.

Do y'all think Karnivool will ever put out another album? All it Takes gave me so much hope and it turned out to only be a single

While waiting for Red God to come out I've been looking for another series to jump into and I think I've been talked into the Stormlight Archives. Something about being able to use the books as building materials is very attractive to me

My fellow prog metal fans, I've heard a lot about Dvne and wanted to get into their discography lately. Where would you recommend a new fan to start?

Random thought, but what are they putting in the water in Australia that's producing so many awesome Progmetal bands?

Caligula's Horse
Reliqa
Karnivool
Ne Obliviscaris
Be'lakor
The Omnific

And a bunch of other ones I didn't mention. I feel like I need to visit just to go to shows
