mascot costumes really is a brilliant idea, a lot of normies watch videos of police brutality and still think, even if the cops are overreacting, their victims or adjacent people must've done something bad to set the cops off like that. nobody thinks the guy with foam hands started the fight

you are living proof that there's no point throwing trans people and immigrants under the bus, as biden and harris relentlessly did, because all the dipshits like you live in a fantasy world anyways

trying to conceive of the person who both thinks johnny cash is uncool AND bob dylan is cool

Compared to Dylan and Springsteen, country-music legend Johnny Cash can seem deeply uncool. It took time for me to appreciate his profound, plainspoken strength, writes Jon Fasman.

if we're going to say "violent rhetoric from both sides is causing violence" it's weird all the cases of proven influence go one way 🤔

has there been an assassin/would-be assassin/mass shooter/terrorist since like, maybe the unabomber, who cited a liberal or leftist politician, journalist, pundit, or podcaster? as opposed to right wingers who frequently leave manifestos with footnotes specifically citing right wingers?

one of my "favorite" tics of right wing christians is when the old testament repeatedly, explicitly, and indisputably contradicts them so they go "well it's not in the new testament"

we really aren't a nation of laws or of a constitution, just a nation of "do a large enough majority of the bourgeoisie have a house and a paycheck"
Then we have no legal rights (besides philosophical claims to natural rights) besides what force can effect, because there is no legitimate legal authority. That's a very scary situation and I'm not there yet. Things are bad, heading that way, it's deadly serious. But we're not there yet and he is right to not say it now.

you might as well just say "yea" because no chance Israel's going to do any of that

i haven't read Harris's book, and I grant it's intended to be more about her insider experience than the election as a whole; but from the excerpts it's astonishing how much she admits 2024 was about her and biden's egos, not about winning
fuzzymike.bsky.social
i wish anyone who worked for biden or harris had treated it that way

we can't even get them to understand that "puberty blockers" are not some radical new untested treatment created to trap prepubescent kids into irreversible transness forever

this rules because as anyone who's seen McArdle on video knows, McArdle on video makes McArdle on paper look coherent and smart, and that's saying a LOT

O'Neal is pushing "The Post into video podcasting, according to people familiar with the matter, aiming to launch a show hosted by Megan McArdle next month and a flagship program in January. The marquee show, I’m told, will be helmed by O’Neal himself."

Last week, new WaPo opinion editor Adam O'Neal quietly carried out another purge of staffers, cutting editors and major names like Marc Fisher and David Hoffman, among others.

Meanwhile, he welcomed three conservatives to the section.
