We discussed suicide (she had recently lost someone and I’m a survivor). she told me that my attempts weren’t “really” attempts because my disassociation.
In the moment, I just let it go but looking back I wish I wouldn’t have. I wish I would have corrected her but sometimes it’s hard to speak out.

She continued to say it’s because I’m Indian that I obviously would love horses. She was also insistent that I had to be white because I had freckles and Indians don’t have freckles.

I met a women this past week who was also traveling and parked at one of my stops. I mentioned that I’ve enjoyed staying at a number of hosts with horses. Her response was “well that makes sense because of your back ground” which left me confused.
