Most people who claim UC are in work. If you want to change that you need to solve housing costs and wages - you can't cut your way out of this as successive governments have pretended! There's been an enormous transfer of wealth to the richest, only resolution is to address that.

Agree. Funny how the "difficult decisions" are always about how much more money to take away from services or benefits for vulnerable people - after nearly 20 years of the same thing - and not about, e.g., taxing the super rich, or putting capital gains tax in line with PAYE
