🎉New paper out @jevbio.bsky.social 🎉

We show that unpredictability in escape behavior of a grasshopper species is partly heritable and may be linked to a boldness behavioral syndrome 🦗💨

First version of my first #R package is out and working! 🥳

gabewinter.github.io/VarDecomp/

It has functions to:
- produce and evaluate #brms models
- do variance decomposition
- summarize and plot results

Let me know if you have some data to test it out and help improve it!

Next Thursday I am leading the discussion in our book club on Bruno Rodrigues' book “Building reproducible analytical pipelines with R”.

If you want to learn how to make your code more reproducible by simply using functions, join us here: meetup.com/rladies-colo...

New paper fresh out of the oven!

We followed the color development of two grasshopper species and found that color morph is defined in the second nymphal stage and doesn't change during life (unlike other color-changing grasshopper species).
