Saw a study on satisfaction/happiness derived from buying things, and by far the largest return was on vacations. Happiness from possessions faded over time, but not travel.

I flew around the SOCOM 4 star CG one night in Iraq. Super nice guy to my NCO ass, but I always remembered his platoon of O6 support staff scrambling non-stop with their hair on fire to make sure absolutely nothing went wrong.

I have a dual motor Kia EV6. The first thought I had after engaging both motors and flooring it was "this is entirely too fast." A four thousand pound car that hits 60 in 4.5 seconds in a kid's hands is a tragedy waiting to happen.
