I'm Gadunka and I'm local Wizards in your area
(was that really the last thing I finished?)
Beat Daemon X Machina yesterday! My first foray into the mecha genre of games, though I had passing knowledge thru AC6 videos
Fun game! I like the themes and aesthetic! Gameplay felt fun, if a bit easy, good introduction to the genre :]

OKAY EVERYONE PACK IT UP.... AKIRA KUROSAWA BACK AT IT AGAIN WITH ANOTHER BANGER!!!! Yojimbo doesn't feel as heartfelt or strong as the last two Kurosawa entries on this list, but it's still an absolute banger. The comedy is spot-on, the action is exciting, and the drama and tension work great!

And last but not least... Well kinda, season 4! In many ways it felt more mature, being about young adults with lives and drama that's more... Relatable as an adult, this season could've lasted a few more episodes I think, maybe I'm bitter that it ends here, but maybe that's life... Still great tho!

IT season 3! God damn! Hit after hit with this show honestly! Possibly the saddest season at points, the ending was... Kinda heavy! With seasons 1 and 2 being about wanting to leave the train, s3 investigates those who'd rather stay, what that entails, and the consequences of their actions

Infinity Train season 2!
Season 1 was good, but season 2 was great! (okay they were both great but still...!) While season 1 is about coming to terms with the circumstances of your life and facing reality, season 2 is more about breaking out and finding yourself in a way that spoke to me

Infinity Train season 1! I watched all the seasons back-to-back a few months ago and forgot to post it here. Season 1 is super fun, come for the train, stay for the journey of growth and acceptance of Tulip! Then stay for the train mystery also, super fun!

Seven Samurai is another Kurosawa banger, ladies and no-one else, nobody does it like this guy! Long-ass movie with a funny production history, watching it is like watching a piece of history, recontextualized a lot of modern media for me! Still makes me emotional to think of Toshiro...!

Akira Kurosawa's "Throne of Blood" is such a good movie, an adaptation of Macbeth but altered to be set in Feudal Japan, everything from the acting, cinematography, sound design and changes made to adapt the work to a Japanese setting is stellar! Would reccomend to anyone who likes movies at all!

Backpack hero is a game I played for free on itchio for a while, then I got the full version for free somehow! The core gameplay loop of fight, loot and rearrange is super fun, the city building is o-kay but not particularly deep or interesting, still fun tho!

Changing from beat-em-ups to Turn based RPGs was a bold-ass move that paid off big time for RGG Studio, Like a Dragon is a perfect showcase of everything the studio learned making the previous 6+ games, the characters? perfect. The story? Amazing. The cinematography? MWAH!!!! Ichiban? MWAH MWAH MWAH

Yakuza 6s ending also made me cry, maybe these games are good? Last of the classic beat-em-up style Yakuza games (judgment dont interact yet), Kiryu is the solo protag again, the console upgrade looks great (the physics messed up in my playthrough...!), not my favourite but damn satisfying!

In Yakuza 5 you truly are the Yakuza 5, everything that made Yakuza 4 great polished, cleaned up and ultimately still a bit messy but it's great! Series newcomer Shinada has one of my favourite character introductions of all time, Haruka finally playable ❤️and an ending that made me cry to death

Still in the middle of Rogue Trader but hoo boy this one's been fun! Currently in the late-game and kind of struggling to keep up with all the information/my own damn builds but that does not matter ! Great story, fun gameplay, made me realize grids in crpgs are awesome

Gravity Circuit! Fun and quick action platformer reminiscent of the Megaman X series! It took a minute before the controls clicked, but when they did I had so much fun, I found it to be the perfect length for a weekend game with enough to come back to if you want to master it :]

Against the storm!! I got Humble Choice at the start of the year and its filled my steam library with some gems and Against the Storm might be my favourite! My favourite part of any city/base builder is the early/mid-game and Against the storm is all about that as a city builder roguelike!

Monster Hunter Wilds! What a fun game! Finally having crossplay on a monhun game made it so much more fun letting me play w/more friends, any criticism the game receives is overshadowed for me by the offset attack mechanic which makes me cum! Also Ray Dau is the coolest monster ever

Finally played through Hollow Knight this year, one of the most fun platformers I've played! I love how closer to the endgame you get tools for finding some of the collectibles, as I missed some grubs and secret spots at first pass. Couldn't beat all the optional challenges, I wanna try silksong!

Lupin III Part 1
Having read some of the manga before, and also watching one of the movies, the early parts of the Lupin anime feels like a mix between the two, a transition from the surprisingly brutal manga Lupin to the eventual Gentleman Thief he's more known as today! Very fun and interesting!
