I'm not a lawyer, but I bet Schumer and Jeffries have lawyers who said "preserve" is the correct language. Why are we celebrating the fact that two of the highest members of government are saying "can we please have laws mean something again"?

"There are steps that the Trump administration has the power to take right now to show good faith" 🤣 Why the fuck are you STILL pretending that this is some sort of misunderstanding? And part of the complaint is about "using taxpayer money"? And it's just about "lives lost"? What about CECOT?

This ruling simply confirms what we already knew. Sadly, the only way the Rule of Law happens is when men with guns enforce it. Can we get some men with guns who believe in the Constitution? They exist, but they need moral leadership to act, because they are actual patriots who want a system.

Is it a "massive win"? This ruling just confirms that the laws being broken are still laws. We already knew that. This is a battered spouse saying "my friends say you really shouldn't hit me." We need a response that actually has teeth. Do your job.

If we believe that the rule of law will hold. It isn't holding. If I were Haitian in Springfield, I wouldn't feel any safer.

I've had similar thoughts. There comes a point where you can't go farther unless you feel certain of success. But we also have to factor in meatheads indulging in magical thinking... Which only makes them more dangerous.

Really interesting point! I wonder to what extent the average ICE agent understands the actual project they're part of? We're seeing escalation on multiple fronts (arresting journalists, etc.), and I wonder if an additional factor is some of these guys "working towards the fuhrer."
