Nothing makes me drop a Myst-alike faster than the studio not understanding what makes those games good and instead of letting you explore and figure things out, just wants to talk endlessly at you, explaining what to do, where to go. No thanks. Good luck with your game.

I was rewatching one of @foldablehuman.bsky.social 's videos last weekend and was reminded that Daybreak scooping up Palia meant it had joined the ecosystem where dead games with dedicated player communities go. I'm still not sure how I feel about that. Kind of a reality check, honestly. #beta5evr
