Our Tactichord cutscene #comic artist Ellen is back in the office this month so I needed to add another monitor to my setup. For most of the administrative things I do this isn't necessary, but it's much appreciated when comparing lots of panels like this. #indiegame #handdrawn

To make things a little less physically confrontational, we've migrated the Tactichord "drum slam" to a "drum spin" that is a shout out to Twisted Sister's Dee Snider from "We're Not Gonna Take It". I also added some thunder #sfx to the special attack #vfx.

Lightning #VFX in Tactichord has been a part of the design since the first concept, but we haven't found a satisfying way to implement it yet. In terms of luminescence I think we're very close, though motion and form we still have a bit of a ways to go.

We are making a graphic push right now, many #animation are being produced so we're seeing if our system in #Unity is scaleable. For serious moments it's important to have the characters be able to articulate their feelings.

We have another public playtest this weekend! So I'm getting ready for that and setting up the builds and backup stuff. I think for fun I'm going to turn on the alternate costumes as well, which we can now do via the debug menu in the game.

In Tactichord choices you make in the story affect your party. This required a lot of under the hood work which Magnus put together in short order. Proof of this is everyday Ricky being swapped out for a fantastic 80s robot, MPG.

#UX! You can iterate forever making things more clear. There's a reason there are tons of books on pleasing UI/UX.

So busy these weeks! I feel like I've been doing a hundred things a day. The last week I've been going around replacing a lot of voice over, audio, sound effects, and writing lyrics. I've been taking screenshots when looking at the post-level playback where the songs you build are played.

All four members of our Tactichord band now have eyes. For the first time... ever? It's like "duh" to anyone else, but since we started then stopped the face expressions a full year ago and it kept getting pushed down the backlog, this is breathtaking for me. ^^;;

When I say camcorder effects what do you think of? Solarization! There are a lot of rendering issues to adjust here but we added some approximation of the old video camera built-in trick using tone mapping in Tactichord.

Facial emotes are controllable now in Tactichord. Just Diane to start but Julia will have the other band members ready soon, then we can see singing Joey during the level playbacks.
