If you want that “all the bells and whistles” experience in neovim, I highly recommend trying Supermaven for AI completions. Throw in nvim-tree and you’ll have a nice file tree as well. These have been daily-drivers for me for a while and they rock!

Then there’s Nier: Automata coming in with the best of both worlds! Gotta give that one another play-through soon.

There are always tradeoffs. The main value proposition for me isn't a shallow time-savings calculation. I love working in Linux and not needing to worry about the next unnecessarily invasive feature Microsoft will attempt to ham-fist into my user experience.
