The long-awaited successor to one of history's most popular consoles The Nintendo Switch 2 has received an update as we head into 2025. The Nintendo Switch turned around the fortunes of the Japanese gaming giants after the disastrous Wii U failed to capitalise on the success of the Wii. Despite launching in 2017, sales have continued, with the figure fast approaching that of Sony's PlayStation 2, widely regarded as one of, if not the, most successful consoles in history.

Microsoft shocked the industry three months ago by announcing plans to close down the studio responsible for one of their most successful Xbox games in recent years, Hi-Fi Rush. However, an unlikely party has saved them from closure to the delight of fans.  Tango Gameworks has been rebranded Tango Gameworks Inc as part of a rebirth under new owners Krafton Inc.

2025 is here and it looks to be a promising year for PlayStation gamers and Sony have kicked off January by announcing the latest free games available on their PS Plus subscription service. Every month, as a member of PlayStation Plus Essential or higher, you are given (usually) three games for free, which you can add to your library and access for as long as you are a member.
