I now have what I think is a solid plan for starting out learning Mandarin.
1. The Chinese Track podcast is amazing so far. They have the transcripts and extra study helpers on their website if you buy a subscription, but their entire audio podcast is free!

I was going to try and only post in Mandarin on this account, but I don't know enough yet. 我会说一点中文. So I'll resolve to use less and less English over time.
