Более того, это конкуренты диктуют тренды рынка, так как совокоты в разы меньше и нишевее, чем Ubisoft, EA, Microsoft и т.п. Рынок порешал за "You own nothing".

Зачем?
1. Инициатива не требует поддержания полной функциональности. Кооп имеет тот же контент, что и соло-игра (но лагучее). Одиночная игра спокойно запускается без сервера.
2. Инициатива работает только при окончании сервиса. Пока сервис работает, ничего делать не надо.
3. Это дело одного патча.

Как будто бы не бывает синглплеерных игр-сервисов. Более того... ващет в Rogue Trade есть кооперативный режим.
