First thing I would do is get a shallow
wooden box, and place my orchid pots in it . It’ll keep them from tipping over. The sides should be only a little bit higher than the pots.

I can’t say what the problem is but I can tell you that peace lilies grow well in standing water; that’s how I grow mine. They can’t get too much water. However their crowns can’t be submerged.
