Ranunculus don’t last long in zone 5b, but aren’t they pretty when they’re here?

Happy Earth day! I planted my Ranunculus today, as we finally have average soil temps appropriate for these beauties.

As a zone 5B gardener, once the seeds hit the shelves in stores, it’s important to think about the spring frost date and the type of seed before starting your journey. I use the Planter app to help me know the best timing for direct sow, transplanting, seed starting and harvesting. Happy planting!

I planted my cold hardy seeds this week and also had an onion that had started to sprout, so I separated all the pieces, sat it in some water to propagate, then planted. We will see what decides to come up with the old seeds for Swiss chard, dinosaur kale, lettuce, green onion, leeks, and snap peas.
