Her tireless work transformed our understanding of the chimpanzee species and her advocacy focused on the protection and restoration of our natural world. San Francisco Botanical Garden was deeply honored to host Dr. Goodall for a sunset visit last April.

We're very sad to hear about the passing of Dr. Jane Goodall. We honor and celebrate her life as a renowned primatologist, conservationist and inspiration to many across the globe. 🕊️

On April 20, 1982, 4 alligators stayed in our lily pond while their home at @calacademy was being resurfaced. One of the gators bit through a keeper's steel-toed boot and into his big toe!

Wish Claude a Happy Hatchday and come visit the Conservatory of Flowers - we promise we won't bite!

Claude's day at Flower Piano in the Botanical Garden was so fun, but we couldn't convince him to hop into the lily pond here - so enjoy this mini Claude re-enactment!

Thank you to Stein and women everywhere making strides towards a more equitable world. 🌸

Happy Women's Equality Day! 🤍 Today, we honor the trailblazing women who have have paved the way, like Sydney Stein Rich, the first woman gardener in the Golden Gate Park in the 1940s. Stein would go onto becoming Head Nurserywoman & Chief Gardener at the Conservatory of Flowers. 🍃
