Retired 🇨🇦 stage tech. I designed & made Neil Peart’s rotary drum riser (Rush). Learning about here. OCWGA (old cis white guy trying hard to be ally). Model engineer, amateur machinist, steam, trains, boats. Living afloat in Toronto.
Will have to read that again, it’s been a while. Currently reading Pratchett & Baxter’s “Long Cosmos”. Book 4 in a series makes it one loooong book. 😁

I found them a bit crunchy/weird after having bacon-wrapped Brussels sprouts with maple syrup the day before. Yum!

Wrapped? Seriously? My mum put 6d bits in the Christmas pudding every year - it was a competition to see which kid (almost) broke a tooth on one. Never wrapped, just stuck in the mix before baking.

Just rain in Kitchener at present. All good.

You might think that given his research project - a potentially lethal new human disease - stethoscope guy in the photo would wear maybe at least an N95 rather than that utterly useless, leaky surgical mask? What is the matter with medical pros? ITS ALL AIRBORNE! Mask up!

💪 *exactly* my plate at Christmas dinner except we had gravy. In my dotage I still like to make a mashed potato & gravy volcano on my plate. 😆

I still get a giggle at the memory of a company pickup on the street in Toronto with corp name emblazoned on the doors in largest possible print:
MAMMOTH ERECTIONS

I went where I could see the money was right out of U of T. Was a crazy ride. 37 is a good number, a whole career for some. You specialize or just catch?

49 years in ‘58.
December 24, 2025 at 1:57 AM
yea well, it’s a spectrum right? Some of us got lucky with the gene pool and are still good. Others hit their apparent ‘80’s when they were 60. I’m watching people I know (2 this month) drop off the cliff at age me + 10. That provides a perspective I’m not sure I want! 😳 😆

Early ‘50’s boomer here. You won’t catch me in one of those death homes while I have 2 synapses to rub together. I worked Jackson 5, Floyd, Who, Sister Sledge, Guess Who; met Mickey Rooney, Steven Tyler & lots others. Hip still good but retired 3yrs now 😁. Toronto.

They said all that about us boomers decades ago and what happened? Nada. Lotsa old fogeys tottering about looking for a bathroom or fast asleep in their recliners.

American media need no Canadian help to make themselves look “silly”. Or treacherous for that matter.
