He’s getting closer! The building housing Canada’s foreign ministry is sometimes compared to the Sphinx - for its shape and inscrutability. An old photo from the internet. (I had offices in the right-hand flank of the main tower.)

I recall it did but he was also the most amazing musician I ever met so that helped. Within a year he was playing better than a lot of professional musicians. He eventually studied classical guitar and mastered that as well. Incredible talent who unfortunately was taken during early days of Covid.

It was back in the early 70s. It must have been a sharp cut on the bottom at the neck, given the existing cut-out.

I had a good friend whose first guitar was a Telecaster that someone had cut into a tear drop shape. Looked rest but didn’t rest easily on one’s leg while sitting and playing.

My wife and I binged on Mackintosh (and company) during a visit in September. Tea room, Hunterian, Hill House, and Kelvingrove. Did not get to House for an Art Lover, but will next time.

My dad grew up in Saltburn. His parents had a house looking out towards the entrance to the Cromarty Firth. My grandfather was harbour master for the Firth for a time after WWII. I visited in September for the first time in decades. Did not know of any Netflix connection.
