Again, this “we just need to talk” claptrap that’s permeated everyone from West Wing fanboys to faux-intellectual righties fundamentally ignores a moral reality, where someone has considered both positions, judged them by an immutable moral code, and come to their only acceptable conclusion.

For the entire shutdown, the NASA app’s photo of the day was Jupiter’s volcanic moon Io. Every time I swiped past it was that moon waiting for me.
The shutdown truly ended for me when I looked down to see a new photo. App is back at it.
