I know it's not this simple, but I'd love to see some credible organization deputize as many reporters as possible, send them in there everyday to call bullshit, then let them go back to their normal jobs as soon as they get bounced.

Once? Nothing. So someone should do it every day. That would get some attention for a while, but even still what's more important is the principle. The press is supposed to call out bullshit. If it's not going to do that, it shouldn't participate in this sham of a ritual.
