He wasn’t right wing by any stretch of the imagination to want we’re seeing now. His daughter being trans sent him completely over the edge and everything since has been about revenge against the world. Buying Twitter is even down to that. I watched it happen as I used to be a big fan of Elon.

He didn’t though originally. He funded it himself and then won contracts by being able to provide services to the public sector that would other wise cost the taxpayer much more. See the cost of SLS!

Yes. I do. I’m not thick. I know how this works. However they also do a lot of work with NGOs, as well as other governments, to take satellites to space. If SpaceX didn’t do it - NASA would have to do it using a much more expensive, single use - vehicle.

You know there’s only a bit of this that’s funded by NASA projects don’t you? The rest comes from successful falcon 9 missions and Starlink subs

We need space travel. Unfortunately there is no getting away from that. For life science, environmental science, defence, economy, and eventually mining… the list is endless. SpaceX - under the leadership of Gwynne Shotwell - does an amazing job.

Except it isn’t. Not entirely. Falcon9 missions and Starlink subs pay for a lot of the work.
