Not to belabor our inking discussion from the other day but I flashed on George possibly being the mystery artist. Seeing this, no way. Hate to say, but it was a coin-toss who inked Jack the worst back then, him or Paul Reinman.

But then Vince came along and we had a new answer to the question...

You know, the more I look at Nick's face, I see Ditko. (A strange sentence if ever there was one.)

And the best part is, unless Mark Evanier just forgot to tell us who really did it, we'll never know!

For what it's worth, my vote is for Ayers. Not enough black for Ditko, altho your comment about him possibly reigning in the lines is a good call.

Jack's work in SGT FURY is, for me, his best "unknown" Marvel work. Haven't seen these covers in awhile, thanks.
