Well done to my son ......
It was great to speak with the BBC’s State of Us podcast about the science behind vaccines in the wake of the pandemic, alongside a local politician Paul Frew

Nearly 400 miles to Leicester to see the King Richard III Visitor Centre and then into Leicester Cathedral to see where he is now buried.

The former Assembly Rooms are in the news again. Again, councillors, reporters or commentators do not realise that this fine Victorian (remodelled) building had a long history as head office of Belfast Bank and later as the 2 Waring Street branch of Northern Bank. www.facebook.com/share/p/1BAZ...

The old Hilltown Road and bridge are starting to reappear in the Spelga reservoir. One to watch as we head into summer.

EDITED - Wrongly described as Killynether House, this building is Conlig House, Little Clandeboye. This link tells the story of the house. 1970s, my photos. lordbelmontinnorthernireland.blogspot.com/2014/12/conl... and @niroads.bsky.social for fixing the colour in my previous post.

In 1972 the UK government introduced the tax free £10 Christmas bonus to be given to certain benefits beneficiaries including pensioners. Never been increased in 52 years by successive governments and with thanks, it has been credited to my bank account today. I've donated it to History Hub Ulster.

Lt Col Wm J English VC. Won his Victoria Cross in 1901, served in three wars. Buried in Aden (now Yemen). My first history project culminating in a blue circle being installed on his former house on Kings Road, Belfast by the Ulster History Circle.
