The counter argument is that the provincial riding Edmonton Whitemud has been NDP for a while and has had red MLAs previously, including famously when they tossed Don Getty. But the federal riding is bigger and goes way further south into more suburban Edmonton

This would be absolutely wild if the LPC could pick off Riverbend. This riding and its predecessor has been blue for as long as I can remember. The only times it wasn’t Tories was when it was Alliance or Reform
