I hope it's clear to everyone now that Trump really is going for it - he's trying to become a dictator. I don't know if he'll succeed, but he's working to install himself as an autocrat unaccountable to voters. And he's weaponizing the military against Americans who oppose him as part of that effort

Anyway, 72 percent of Americans support universal background checks and 76 percent support extreme risk protection orders (ERPOs). Maybe Congress should take those things up

Also Stars-Avs being an 7:55 local puck drop when scheduled for 7:30 is laughable. I know this isn’t knew and yes I will bring this up throughout the playoffs. Just list honest start times, it’s not hard, baseball does it

Finding out the truth is, in fact, the very reason for providing people with due process.
REPORTER: If a court holds you in contempt, you will take steps to return Abrego Garcia & put him in front of a judge?

TRUMP: Well I'm not involved in it. I'm gonna respond by saying you'll have to speak to the lawyers. I've heard many things about him, and we'll have to find out what the truth is

Rand Paul: "The whole [tariffs] debate is so fundamentally backwards & upside down. It's based on a fallacy & the fallacy is this: that somehow in a trade, someone must lose. That somehow when you trade with someone, someone is taking advantage of you... I have a trade deficit with my grocery store"

Trump: "One thing I learned about the coal miners -- that's what they want to do. You could give them a penthouse on 5th Avenue and a different kind of a job and they'd be unhappy. They want to mine coal. She was gonna put them in a high tech industry where you make little cell phones and things."

HE. DOESNT. UNDERSTAND. WHAT. A. TRADE. DEFICIT. IS.
Trump: "I spoke to a lot of leaders -- European, Asian, from all over the world. They are dying to make a deal, but I said 'we're not gonna have deficits with your country' ... to me a deficit is a loss. We're gonna have surpluses or at worst we're gonna be breaking even."

Trade deficit. I have bought food from say, Chilis. They have never bought food from me.

There is a trade deficit with Chilis. I’m still doing fine.

The trade deficit argument SOUNDS compelling, but it’s a straw man with no relevancy

Target buys its T-shirts from China where they cost $2 each.🇨🇳

A T-shirt made in America costs $10.🇺🇸

Trump’s tariff means the T-shirt from China now costs $3.

Will Target now buy from America instead?

All that happens is YOU pay more.

Its. A. Consumer. Tax.
MacCALLUM: Will American workers make shirts and garments for the same--? Obviously the labor costs are so much cheaper overseas in those places

CHAVEZ-DeREMER: We're gonna onshore, repatriate some of these companies to invest in America directly so that we can build that workforce

More accurate example:

I ate at McDonald’s 3 times last month. Spent $30 with them. But they never bought anything from me.

McDonald’s is cheating me!
The White House says that trade deficit is “cheating.” So that means when I buy a Big Mac for $10 but it only costs McDonalds $4 to make, they’re cheating me out of $6? #stupid

It is hard to express, without resorting to expletives, how utterly stupid it is to suggest that the United States, world's richest economy with a population of 334 million, should have a bilateral trade balance of zero (no trade surplus, no trade deficit) with every country in the world.
I want to note again how completely insane you have to be for your goal to be a “bilateral trade balance of zero” with every country. Just nutso.
