He had a framed drum part of a Tubby Hayes piece on a small wall panel. This drum part was essentially a lot of bars and the word “time” - barely a pick up accent anywhere. I went to read it and Geoff said “don’t touch. That’s priceless that is.” I bet it wasn’t if he needed a box of Lion Bars…

I once discussed a vintage TV themes disc with a record executive of similar mind, & the things he listed were just unbelievable. The XYY Man. Hazell. The Mind of JG Reeder. The Very Merry Widow and How, Gems. I challenged him to sing me one of those. He couldn’t. The titles just appealed he said.
