Digging into Tress of the Emerald Sea by Brandon Sanderson. A little ways into part 2 and absolutely loving it. It’s a shame I need to go to sleep 🤣

I just started Tress of the Emerald Sea. The titular character is called Tress because she braids her difficult-to-tame hair into a braid every day. In the absolutely gorgeous illustrations, however she does not have a braid.

I feel deeply and utterly betrayed.

As a real-life gay person, on my city’s #Pride, I’m doing what makes me feel most like myself: biking over to my #paddling club’s marina and helping re-rig boats after a milestone #OC6 race yesterday with an amazing crew.

Just finished The Sword of Destiny, the second volume in the #Witcher series. I have really enjoyed the simple, almost fairytale-like sketches Sapkowski gives in the first two books. The end was very touching and feels like a layup into the saga. Curious to see where it all goes from here!

Books don’t have to be seen as morally or intellectually superior to movies — they can also just be fun!

Here’s one reason books can be so great: they never cast an actor who is obviously not a martial artist for a martial arts role, or put them into action scenes that are just shaky cutaways 😛
