Gay, progressive liberal. Sustainable progress is always pragmatic. Allergic to virtue signaling.

Not afraid to call out illiberal Dems & misogyny in the queer community.

Science & facts > feelings & beliefs (even my own)

It's almost like the monetization of a free-access social media platform is inevitable. That "my team" thought Bluesky would be an exception speaks to our collective ignorance of economics and human nature.
With the holidays, you might have missed this: "Subscriptions and Monetization are Coming to Bluesky — Here's How They’ll Work." buffer.com/resources/bl...

Bluesky+ was initially rumoured to ship in December 2024 but is now scheduled to ship sometime this year.

Ah, yes. Let's double down on the winning strategy of not only insulting & broad-brushing everyone who voted GOP last time, but also those who didn't vote at all. JFC, my "fellow" Dems sure are winners! 🤦🏼‍♂️
And if you didn’t vote, you’re worse than the other two options.

That "our side" (the left) has anti-science elements isn't new. The "organic/natural" movement, anti-vaxxer conspiracy theorists, & gender ideology TRAs are just a few easy examples. What is new, however, is mainstream, objective acknowledgement of this reality & how RFK Jr is bridging it with MAGA.
Once, being “crunchy” by eating whole foods and avoiding toxins was associated with a lefty worldview, Lisa Miller writes. But with the rise of “crunchy” moms and the election of Donald Trump, the term has evolved again, overlapping with a politically right cry of health freedom and choice.
How the Right and the MAHA Movement Have Co-opted ‘Crunchy’
Once, eating whole foods and avoiding toxins was associated with a lefty worldview. Now, being a “crunchy mom” is more often about “health freedom.”

I've heard @jessesingal.com refer to the act of posting on Bluesky as "skeeting." I like the appropriation this gerund for a variety of obvious reasons, but I'm torn because skeeting in other contexts is generally enjoyable whereas my experience on this app has been... 😬

Similar what I said about Caraballo, if he doesn't know Singal's tweet was dripping in irony & sarcasm, one or more of the following are true:
1) He's a disingenuous liar who peddles in disinformation.
2) He believes his followers are boobs.
3) He's a boob himself.
famous sign of journalistic integrity:

licking the boots of the richest man in the world by saying you've never criticized him and calling him a genius

If that data qualifies as PHI/PII, then one or more of the following must be true of her:
1) She's a disingenuous liar who peddles in disinformation.
2) She believes her followers are boobs.
3) She's a boob herself.

There seem to be some deal-breakers for lefties here:
1) Speech can be restricted if it's offensive.
2) Beliefs can be forced on others if it's about enforcing secular kindness.
3) Trans women are actual women.
4) Democracy only when we get everything we want & compromise is tantamount to treachery.

Folks on the Dem side wondering why we lost & deciding it's because we were 💯 correct & everyone who didn't vote for us is just a sexist, racist idiot posts a link to a clip criticizing internal critic for making arguments that weren't even made ironically proving internal critics correct. 🤦🏼‍♂️

Not surprising, given this has been my experience on social media almost without exception. But I'm glad to see we're having serious work being done to empirically prove this. It seems this rides primarily on appeals to emotion to override any logic & intentionally bypass any civil discourse.
I’m super excited to announce I'm part of an amazing team (<3 @williambrady.bsky.social @killianmcloughlin.bsky.social @mjcrockett.bsky.social) that just published a paper in @science.org on the role of outrage in spread of misinformation

This is both infuriating and heartbreaking. When politicians craft laws to regulate medical care that aren't science- and evidence-based, you will inevitably get outcomes like this. Pregnancy is dangerous for mother and baby, and needs to be taken as seriously as any other major medical condition.

And if you haven't, read her story on Josseli Barnica, a Texas woman who died after being told it would be a "crime" to intervene in her miscarriage:
