In the morning, after I discover the GIANT hyena tracks and learn that no, the cackle is if they’re stressed, the “owl” calls were the pack chatting, our guide says “Every time you got up and went by my tent, I thought “Please don’t piss on a hyena…please don’t piss on a hyena…”

So I get up three, four times in the night, and Kevin patiently accompanies me into the bush.

And we kept hearing all these calls. “Wow!” I thought. “Are those owls?”

Later: “Sure must be a lot of owls around here!”

Only 600ish light years away. I wonder what else will show up with the wave front ❓
