He says things like this that are SO far from true and I can't help but think this is what he's being told. He's surrounded himself with people whose only job is to tell him what he wants to hear - or be fired - so I expect this is the info he's being fed and he has no inclination to question it.

When Night Court gets canceled, somebody let NBC know that they killed it with that *ridiculously* overdone laugh track. Not every damn thing somebody says needs laughter. It makes the show unwatchable.
