Software developer. Most comfortable with Go, can do frontend too. I built jungletv.live, underlx.com, tny.im and more. I know more about the internals of GTA V and Watch Dogs than their average players. Sometimes I make music and high effort shitposts.
And, once again, a good time to bring this back from the archive:

My haul this #BandcampFriday (links in thread)
This feels like an achievement when it should just be a transaction - Bandcamp is going through severe technical issues... if they don't extend this Bandcamp Friday it's a bad look, lots of artists see a significant uptick in sales during these events.

Sending email is easy, why do you ask?

A decade ago, I cut my teeth in the world of embedded systems by making software for the graphic calculator I used in high school. I made the mistake of including an email address in the about screens, and despite recent disclaimers (read gbl08ma.com/casio-prizm-...) I still receive gems like this:

@baileytownsend.dev do you know why it says "no description available" in the preview? I see it's also doing that for some other repos it has posted. Isn't this meant to be this description?

Yeah, this is definitely not the certification path I see for my websites behind Cloudflare. This one involves SSL.com and my websites involve Google Trust Services.

Possibly related? www.reddit.com/r/CloudFlare... (especially that comment about the undocumented endpoint)

Update: we're closer to a root cause (repro'd on my local machine). The cert is green in Firefox and curl didn't complain either, so the next step is to find out how bun deals with certs and why it doesn't like it.

BTW: I think I heard something about running PDS behind CF not being a good idea.

Ah yeah, I was going to save this for tomorrow's s̵e̵l̵f̵-̵p̵r̵o̵m̵o̵t̵i̵o̵n̵ status update, but I might just share it now instead:

Now that I'm trying to build one I can definitely see how they can be quite fiddly :( The good news is that I might have something working soon.
Only bigger PDSs will have dedicated labels. Smaller ones get the "Other PDS" label instead. The "Independent PDS" label is applied to everyone on one.

Making an actual effort at trying out Bitwig to see if I can leave Windows & Ableton behind in peace (and yes I know this is 5.x and 6 will be much better).
1. Chat, are we cooking?
2. What genre is this even? lol (I swear every new project I make, a different one comes out. I'm such a noob)

Cookie Clicker has it set to a whopping 93 GB despite never using more than a few KB, lol

It's alive... but the screen is even more broken than I remember (the top 40% of the screen used to work fine, with some flickering). I think Rockbox supports having narration in the menus, so maybe I could pretend this is now an iPod Shuffle and use it like that...

A smaller haul this #BandcampFriday (I've been busy, no time to find music). I don't even have to put the links in the alt text this time:
- noisy.bandcamp.com/track/all-of-u
- aedis-syopeen.bandcamp.com/album/megate...
- worldwidewolf.bandcamp.com/album/caller...
- sanxion7.com/album/grotes...

My haul this #BandcampFriday
Links to each album/track in the alt text, if nothing messes them up.
By the way, if I were to spend this much every other month, it'd still be cheaper than a Spotify subscription - and I get to choose who actually gets the money.

But for real, I knew I'm not cut out for mastering when I realized that I can listen to other people's masters like this and say they're still fine. Granted, usually only clean mixes can be pushed this hard... turns out the mixing part is kinda important.
April 18, 2025 at 11:23 PM
Clean mixdown? Sounds like too much work. I shall continue with my super busy mixes, placing a soft clipper on the master with the gain and saturation turned up to the moon, and pretending the distortion is an intentional artistic choice. It's not like I can hear you over this earrape anyway 🙉

I started playing the latest GTA V re-release and soon after I got the feeling that something sounded off. I'm a bit ashamed that it took reading online that the music was in mono for me to realize that's what's wrong. In any case, thanks Rockstar for yet another shitposting opportunity:

legitrant appears to be infested with fake reCaptcha malware (www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/securit...) that isn't getting blocked by uBO. Where did you even get that link from?

This is mine, tbh I wouldn't be able to tell you what most of those 20 new games were, I guess I open a lot of stuff just to see if I'd like it. Also it turns out that grinding CS2 weekly just to get free cases to sell takes a lot of time, who would have known.

Faz lembrar um momento, há uns anos atrás, em que _parecia_ que o Miguel Cabrita tinha aproveitado para não pagar bilhete.

More obsolete Microsoft client platforms that I have poorly preserved in my drawers, this time we have Metro UI goodness.

On the right: Lumia 930 running Windows 10 Mobile (EOL Jan 2020)

The fact that the cloud saves service of #GOG, which is wholly owned by CD Projekt, has been gimped to the point where it can't sync the normal number of save files for #Cyberpunk2077 (a CD Projekt game), is truly one of the CD Projekt moments of all time.

I suppose the lesson is to buy on Steam?

I really want to make more of my mediocre music accessible publicly but, somehow, giving titles to tracks is more of an insurmountable task for me than the actual "production" or whatever this is 😩
And I'm not particularly fond of the idea of having a """discography""" that looks like a calendar
