What is so wrong with a place of refuge for the weary, the frightened, the folks who believe humanity is more valuable than money? Just a regular user saying I can’t stay hear if I have to wade through racist, misogynistic posts that laud inhumane treatment and call it progress.

I am a regular human. I am not fancy, or wealthy, or connected. I come here because I cannot bear the news, because I deleted all my other social accounts out of disgust and, honestly, fear. I like that it is relatively calm here. I like that humans can express their outrage at inhumanity.

A lot of women know how to handle abusers. Once you give in, they’ve got you on their he yo-yo string. You have to walk away early or make it clear that you’ll fight and ensure they don’t walk away unscathed. This capitulating to your abuser is the absolute wrong strategy.

Feels like the response of someone who is being abused to try to ward off more abuse. Personally, when threatened with pain I ether remove myself or show a complete willingness to make everybody hurt. I don’t suffer abusers or comply with their requests.

I have noticed that the standard media coverage is unchanged. With a big storm we hear about it days in advance and the worst possible scenarios are anticipated. With current corruption there is no alarm bell, no advice, just “1/2 the employees at the DOE have been fired, and now to sports”.

Pitiful strategy.
