Oh dang, I think I saw the aftermath last night from a distance. Near the intersection with Liverpool, it looked like there was a semi involved.

The tunnel is stupid, but if Halifax was in Ontario Doug Ford probably would've dumped an LRT line on us by now

At least Doug Ford funds transit projects. How do we get Tim Houston to copy that mania too?

Have any of the councillors raised removing the street parking instead, or narrowing lanes as @kwilsonhfx.bsky.social suggested? It'd be a shame to lose the trees if not absolutely necessary

If we move the port and re-use the rail cut, it should be for a rail transit system, not a ring road. Just copy-paste O-Train Line 2 into there.

That people assume it’s impossible to go grocery shopping without a car (not helped by every grocery store having a massive parking lot to walk across) But like, I just walk there with a backpack and some tote bags. Genuinely the first question I get when telling people I don’t own a car, every time

Faster/more reliable Montreal service seems like a pipe dream, but what's stopping VIA from running a shorter, more frequent, and thus more reliable Maritime-only service? Say Moncton or St. John to Halifax and back (It's money, I know, it's always money)

There’s no reason they can’t both be 🤷♂️, with Robie in the middle as the main car and transit corridor
