CN Human Bloodrager trapped in the body of mild-mannered middle-aged socialist.
The idea that it’s anti-labor to applaud this woman’s firing is ridiculous. This woman might be working class, but she’s not pro-union. You can’t have attitudes like being proudly racist and support a union, which is designed to support all members.

Oh! Come to think of it, Gulliver’s Travels! Satirical travelogue, presented as a genuine account.

I’d also consider House of Leaves to fit this genre, as does a lot of Lovecraftian literature. For books by Lovecraft himself, how about At the Mountains of Madness? It’s a plea to science not to go to Antarctica, using the account of an ill-fated expedition as evidence. And there’s shoggoths!

The Rise of the Meritocracy by Michael Young. It’s essentially a satirical sociological study piece, written in a dystopian future UK. It’s in the style of an academic piece, but it’s not opaque. Probably my favorite of all the mid-century dystopian future novels, despite being relatively obscure.

It looks like he’s the only guy on the team without the confidence to take a shot. Maybe if he spent a week on the beach and came back he’d be better.

Is Bodø/Glimt the best thing to ever happen to the Champions League? How can we get more teams that play in extreme environments into this competition? Is R'lyeh part of UEFA?

If they had stayed healthy, I’d have called it the best 90 minutes by a defensive pair so far this season.

But can they maintain this perfect mentality against the teams they’re expected to beat? The eternal youthful squad dilemma: how to keep the kids engaged and diligent when they aren’t motivated by a high-stakes match?

Honestly, I was most impressed with the defense, especially in the face of so little continuity in the partnerships. Liverpool had a could decent chances, but most of their offense consisted of low xG shots from the wings. Their goal was only due to a bit of magic by Isak. Heartening stuff!

My wife has been telling me to read Perfume for years (she first read it in the 90s), but I just hadn’t. @eleanormorton.bsky.social ‘s recommendation got me to finally do so and it was amazing! And I remembered the fun fact about it I’ve known for over 30 years: it was Kurt Cobain’s favorite book.

If you watch the video, right as he turns away, Palmer looks like he’s going to make a face or roll his eyes, then he sees the camera pointing right at him and stops himself.

Fair. Reese didn’t look too happy about it.

I saw a rumor that Donnarumma might be heading to CFC. Didn’t think much of it, until Maresca was the person to pull him out of the brawl and whisper sweet Italian nothings in his ear. Think he might have said “Don’t start fighting your future teammates”?
