Somehow, I feel compelled to post this here, much as I posted it on Facebook back in 2012. Both cakes are absolutely beautiful, btw. The level of skill needed for each is what gives me awe.

I'd like to start things off right. One of my ancestors, May Benedict Maye, was a great writer back in the Great Depression. Published in 1935, Blue Sky is a treasure!
By the way - she did all her own illustrations, including the cover illustration. Very cool!
