My favorite part is when they talk about the “batch releases distributed globally circa Q4 2015” for a program that started development in 2023 and didn’t have its first full release until 2024 💀

It’s under the MIT license- I guess bootleg is the wrong term… sorry about that! 😅

Seems to work fine! I’m not sure how high quality the board itself is, but I’ll definitely open it up if I make a video about it

Interestingly it *is* v1.2.0, despite the listings going up before I released it in October. I appreciate them keeping up with that at least! 😅

After you told me was when I got curious about what the quality was!! 😂

That’s a good idea!! I also can show off what I had in mind for how to load the program while developing it (which was mainly the Wii homebrew method)!

I have *super* mixed feelings on it and I’d love to talk more about it, but I don’t want to seem like I’m endorsing a bootleg product, especially since it’s my own code lol. Legally, they’re not in the wrong since it’s an open source project, but like- idk. It’s weird lol

Thank you!! Ultimately ended up being a case where I didn’t check if an array’s index went below zero, only if it went outside the array’s upper bounds 🙃

Thank you all for your continued support and here’s to a positive 2026!!

I’m really hoping to get more done with Poké Transporter GB- I’ve been working on a bug that popped up about a month ago that’s been *killing* me, but that’s sorta how it goes. Language support and alternate transfer methods are still hopefully coming in the first few months of this year!!
January 1, 2026 at 5:29 AM
Hello!! Language compatibility is currently pretty far in development, and I’m hoping to release it around the start of the new year. I don’t have a specific date in mind, but I’m planning on getting a bunch of work done on it between Christmas and New Years!!

Howdy! Sorry for the late reply- would you be able to go to the credits screen of PTGB and press select, and send me a screenshot of that? That should help me debug your issue 😄

I totally get that it’s hard to scrub games of *all* of the data for the DLC, but this really sucks. Looking forward to the Switch 2 era where we can’t automatically leak everything the second the game drops- but that also means no unused data and all that cool stuff :/

Poke Transporter GB is a tool that runs on original hardware that transfers Pokemon from Generation 1/2 to Generation 3! I have a video talking about what it is and the development process here if you’re interested!

At the moment the library will double the IVs for both Legal and Faithful- however currently only the Original method is implemented in Poke Transporter GB. Once the last few bugs with the PCCS are fixed and community input is finished, it’ll be fully implemented!
October 13, 2025 at 12:36 AM
Howdy! Apologies about the doubling IVs, I must’ve mislabeled that one. The only Pokémon that wouldn’t work for theoretically is the legendary beasts due to the roaming IV glitch restricting them.

You’re correct about the hatched origin! Besides Unown, only legendaries have that issue

A major part of this is the "Pokemon Community Conversion Standard" which is an open source library I created for different conversion methods. I'm really hoping this can be something the community can come together on and agree on these methods together!
