Someone on Reddit suggested that people may be reporting imagined fires based on the pall of smoke from the Otway fire. Makes more sense than a crazy firebug running around setting multiple fires in the wee hours in Melbourne suburbs.

I just woke up to find 16 messages from Vic Emergency about my watchzone, which is a 10k radius around my home in Mitcham. Mostly 'other fire' notifications. Wtf?

The second lot, where the plates were already hot, I did for 90 seconds on both sides, and they were definitely juicier.

I was slowly scrolling down when I saw this, so the first part I saw was like a classic illustration, then abruptly the feet said "crude modernity". It makes the photo interesting.

The buses are lower now, easier to access, and my walker makes walking far less exhausting. And the pain - well, I guess I have grown accustomed to it. It's just the way things are now. I will take the bus again, and be happy to do so.
