Wildlife photography is funny. I researched a new location, woke up at 5 AM, drove there, walked 10 km with a bunch of heavy gear on my back, and barely took any pictures (still had a great time though).

Whinchat. One of the easiest birds to photograph - they tend to pick a few perch spots and cycle through them. Once I realized this, I sat quietly near one of the spots and eventually managed to take a close-up portrait - probably the closest I've ever been to a small bird like that #birds

Got totally eaten by mosquitoes while laying in the meadow photographing her but it was totally worth it - look at those ears! :) There are a lot of deer where I live but I was struggling getting any good pictures of them. Hopefully I will have more luck second year of doing this hobby :)

Managed to sneak up to this guy and take some pictures but eventually he started suspecting something and slowly retracted to the woods. Light was getting really nice so I decided to take a chance and hide behind one of these hay rolls close to the forest and wait... (to be continued:))

One of my first real wildlife photography encounters this February. I just peeked from the edge of the forest and saw her (?) just sitting there enjoying first spring sun. Such a beautiful animal!

It's a Wood Sandpiper but in my country we gave them very cute name - Tikutis. Photographed this guy several times in my secret spot that I found by chance just wondering in the woods. Only later after doing my research I found out that where I live it is a pretty rare protected species.
