As a bi demisexual I resonate with this on so many levels. So many assumptions get made about any romantic relationships I will or won't have.

You can just survive if you need to. You can avoid. You can leave. You CAN have those hard conversations if it is safe and you have the energy. But you are not responsible for rehabilitating the person/people who traumatized you.
